Variegated heartleaf trash plant ( Aptenia cordifolia‘Variegata ’ , Zones 10–11 ) has moderately fiddling red bloom all summertime long , but the real show is that beautiful clean - edged succulent green foliation . While only hardy in the warmest of climates , like many succulent , it is easy to winter indoors if kept on the wry side and placed on a cheery windowsill .
