Favorite plants from an avid gardener
Veronica W. from Bloomfield , Connecticut , is an avid industrial plant lover who send out in these photos of some of her favorite plants .
Variegated heartleaf trash plant ( Aptenia cordifolia‘Variegata ’ , Zones 10–11 ) has moderately fiddling red bloom all summertime long , but the real show is that beautiful clean - edged succulent green foliation . While only hardy in the warmest of climates , like many succulent , it is easy to winter indoors if kept on the wry side and placed on a cheery windowsill .
The beautiful bronze hue of thisheuchera ’s leaves complement absolutely the yellow and pink perennials growing behind it .

This incredibledahliaboasts not only full-grown , beautiful red flowers but also copious , dark foliage that is nearly as decorative . More and more dahlia varieties with saturnine leaf are coming on the market , play rattling color to a bottom from every part of the plant .
This container implant withvariegated purple fountain grass ( Pennisetum setaceum‘Fireworks ’ , zone 9–11 or as annual ) and variegatedsweet potato vine(Ipomoea batatas‘Tricolor ’ , zone 9–11 or as one-year ) works beautifully . The two plants are very dissimilar in form , development habit , and color , but the pinkish prime on the novel growing of the sweet potato vine picks up on the reddish chromaticity of the sess , tie everything together .
Dahlia ! These legal tender bulbs are the queens of the late summertime garden , and do n’t forget that you could easily store them over the winter to practice again next year . you’re able to even separate them to get more plants ! We ’ve get a how - to videohere .
