Well , the sad hebdomad came . We took down the elderly white basswood , the last of the Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree that came with the household .
As you could see , it was getting a bit thin on top .

With the “ large blow ” a few weeks ago , so many limbs dropped that we acknowledge an imminent tragedy would reward our procrastination . We envision it was safe to schedule its day of the month with destiny ourselves .
So , in about a year , the back fencing has gone from a lot of shade to unmitigated Dominicus . First , the city razed the tree diagram ( mostly trash trees , but still , Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree ) on the creek . Then the Afghanistani pine died . It sure opens up some newfangled opportunity . For sure , the roses on the African tea cove arbor will do justice to their worthy inheritance now that the sunshine shines on them again . At least , once they grow back , but they ’re sprout healthy buds every daylight .
Surprise , surprise ! Indoors , the Christmas cactus flower again . I guess a gift plant life from beloved neighbors comes with a warranty of success .

Just beyond its windowpane , I walk out one morning to this surprisal in the front way bed .
It ’s another endowment plant , one of the two butterfly irises that my horticulture friends Pat and Tom give me last year when they divided theirs . TheseDietes grandiflorasadopted us very quickly .
The pipevine swallowtails are adopting the heap bay wreath these day .

I obtain a positive ID from Mike Quinn from theAustin Butterfly Forum . Check them out for confluence time and lots of butterfly info . Mike also sent these two resources for you butterfly stroke fans : Butterflies of Travis County , andButterflies and Moths of North America .
The butterfly stroke also like the narcissus . Here ’s Falconet in the crape bed .
Gigantic Star under the Taiwanese pistache .

And yet again , another Sweetness in the den bed .
Also , I ’m glad I did n’t altogether trim back the over-embellished trailing lantana . With the warm weather , the remnants are blooming and feed the desperate butterflies and bee .
I have intercourse we ’re all busy as butterfly stroke in the garden right now , so until next week , Linda
