Yesterday eve I was feeling a little better so I headed out to the garden to take some pictures .
outflow is here , and the plant life are respond .
Here ’s the kitchen garden , right off the back terrace orbit .

Some of the beds are n’t finished yet , and many things are still sleep , but others are awake and grow .
This strawberry mark plant is out front of the remainder .
And some of the chives are in bloom . Out in the nutrient forest , a crabapple is blooming for the first time .

And the dandelion have been blooming for over a calendar month now .
Meanwhile , the area we embed after moving the copper looks smashing . And it ’s meter to move the pigs again .
And beyond the wheat are the new Grocery Row Gardens . First , the left side :

And the middle :
And to the right :
you’re able to see the one path I covered with a cover crop . The rest of the area is mulch .

The other Clarence Day we constitute a few twelve flower lightbulb through the Grocery Rows : sword lily , lily , day lily , dahlia and more . They ’ll be a lovely addition to the edibles .
These Grocery Row Gardens are a little anarchistic compared to my previous one , as we had to graft in a unhinged elan at the goal of the twelvemonth as we moved from our rental firm to our purchased homestead . I ’m still wonder what ’s going to total up . There are gingers , malanga , cassavas , sugarcane , cannas , Jerusalem artichokes , yacon and a half - dozen other roots still sleeping beneath the mulch . And I have n’t a clue what some of the Tree are . Our original plan was shattered and re - created here in multiple half-baked van lode .
Meanwhile , Jenny watch all this anarchy with a minatory heart .

In the row garden , we ’ve harvested most of the daikon and some of the cultivated cabbage and are now fill in the gaps with other plants .
We ’ve planted some tomatoes and peppers already , though you ca n’t see them in this picture .
And a double row of carrots where we took out some lucre .

The spud are coming along nicely .
From left to right wing , these are row of Yukon Gold , White Kennebec , Red Pontiac , and Red La Soda .
The Red Pontiac is doing the very sound so far .

This is what that region await like before :
Beneath the yam treillage just to the left of the principal potato rows , I plant a double row of Adirondack drear potatoes .
They are doing swell so far .

Another new summation to the gardens is thisGunnera tinctoria , which I discoveredwhile readingThe Voyage of the Beagle .
It well live because it cost me a small-scale portion to have one ship over from California !
So far , so dependable .

In another month , the gardens will be truly astounding . They ’re only half awake now – I ca n’t wait to see what happens next . The soil here is so much honorable than it was at the cursed George Sand pit of death .
