Cold winters don’t stop this gardener
My name is Laureen Stevenson , and I hold up in Prince George , British Columbia , Canada , in Zone 3 . Here are some garden picture of my one thousand this year .
You might think gardening in icy Zone 3 ( where the average winter David Low is somewhere between – 30 ° and – 40 ° F/–34 ° and – 40 ° ascorbic acid ) would be unmanageable , and I am certain it is a challenge , but Laureen ’s garden is absolutely filled with flowers . Here pink rose pair attractively withpetuniasand otherannuals , all bloom their heads off . Though northerly summertime are short , the days are long , which helps many annuals perform splendidly .
A police van loading of blooming petunias . They look to be the variety ‘ Vista Silverberry ’ and ‘ Vista Bubblegum ’ .

A all-inclusive thought of Laureen ’s garden , loaded with coloring material from lustrous blooming annuals .
An ocean of down in the mouth annuallobelia . Annual lobelias opt cool atmospheric condition , and these clear are felicitous in this northern summer .
More one-year lobelias growing at the groundwork of a pink - floweredblack - eyed Susan vine(Thunbergiaalata , annual )

downy double - floweredhollyhocks(Alcearosea , Zones 3–8 )
Yellow blooms of yearly genus Bidens ( Bidensferulifolia ) draw a humblebee punt by more drab lobelia .
This wreath ofsucculentslooks like greenish flowers . In clime where they are n’t unfearing out of doors , succulent like these can be overwinter indoors on a sunny windowsill or under lights .

A container of annuals rosiness so thickly that they almost look like a pail of cut flush at a flower market place !
A magnificent sunset over a “ flower ” made of peak .
