If there is one news Mary and I have never been affectionate of , it is the word retreat .
Retire means ceasing to work . To cease . To quit . It conjures up thoughts of rocking president , and sedentary cerebration and actions .
Heading back to the farm and to our new “Reliving” careers.

It is certainly not something that we would ever need to look forward to .
But RELIVING – now that is a watchword we can enfold our lives around ! And that is precisely what we are give out to do from here on out .

Yes , we have decided it is prison term to do what we fuck full - time . And now , why we are amply able and can do it , revel it , and live it .
Like spend more time gardening . Spending more metre creating Modern project around the farm , or cooking up fresh formula in the kitchen . And spending more clock time learn the country and the back roads every probability we get .
But perhaps most of all , ultimately give birth time to pay our lifespan to the three things we love most – travelling , write and speaking together about all of those rattling things listed above !

All the while in the showtime , we maintained our professional life history as well . The detour for us to Nashville for my study during the last year was an amazing time and an eye - open adventure . We fell in passion with the people there . We immersed ourselves in experiences every chance we could .

I was absolutely deuced to work alongside some of the most amazing hoi polloi during my time there . It made this decision to follow our dreams full - time all the severely .

So we made a decision that Mary would go first .
And she has never looked back . She took over more of the piece of writing for our Old World Garden Farms website , and even start her own Make Your Meals formula land site .

As crazy as it sounds , the more she did what she enjoy , the more it worked out . And the bonus for her early retirement was she now had the opportunity to travel whenever she want with me as well .
Reliving Early – The Plan
So why did we take the word reliving . Because to us , that is what retiring should be all about . A chance to live and do all of the thing that having a traditional 9 to 5 caper kept you from ever doing .

For me , I take a grueling , valuable moral from my pa . It has stayed with me always .
My father passed away at a way too unseasoned age of 56 . I was 13 at the time .
Although he and my female parent had an incredibly wonderful life – I am certain that there were so many amazing things they had planned on doing together – and never got the chance .
For us , we desire no regrets .
More Farm To Table Dinners are in the future for the farm – for sure!
So what are we really going to do in our relivingment ? Well , subsist of course !
We will continue to write and produce all sorts of undertaking at the farm . Mary will bear on to uprise and write for her recipe site as well .

We will dive into a whole new slew of DIY task at the farm . After all , I will need to stay on to work harder alfresco at the farm just to forge the supply exercising weight off from trialing all of her new recipes . ( A hard task , but I need to do my part and serve 🙂 )
As far as the farm goes , there is a program for it as well . We will begin to host monthly summer farm to mesa dinners , and a few consequence here and there as well . It is always been our destination to host a nuptials or two there – and hopefully now we can do that a clip or two each yr .
But there is one implausibly monolithic goal that need to be cross off our bucket lean before we officially make out back to the farm for goodness . And we feel like it is the utter way to lionize and kick off our Reliving life history .
