Hot tub ponds before they were filled .
For years I was hypnotized with the idea of build a pool . I even dig out a self-aggrandising pit once , lined it with charge card , filled it … then make , “ holy moly … if a little kid fall in there , we ’d never know it until it was too late ! ” – and so I emptied it out again .
The idea of making a hot tub into a hot tubpondby using plaster bandage - off red-hot tubs came to me when I see more than one Jacuzzi laying unused and filled with green trash at some of the foreclosure homes we chew the fat while expect for property .

Hot tubs are always being discarded by homeowner who are either upgrading their current hot vat for a novel , hot , tubbier manikin … or who have simply tie of the upkeep required to keep a hot tubful running game .
Last week , I have an atomic number 99 - mail about my live tub pond idea :
I ’ve watched your time of day long video[13 Tips , Tricks , And Lessons From Homesteading an Acre -DTG]a few time now , excellent chore . I ’m interested in recreating the hot bathing tub pond as soon as I find one for the right Mary Leontyne Price ( spare ) . I had a few doubt though .

Hot tub ponds before they were filled.
Did you provide any of the plumbing intact or did you just punch the holes ?
What did you put in the bottom to get started ?
Is the pelting enough to keep it filled ? I ’ve considered tying my sewer into the pool once I get one .

What? You don’t havemy crazy great homesteading videoyet? How am I supposed to pay a video editor?
Thanks as always for any aid .

I unscrewed the various habitue inside that pond that could be unscrewed , then bought PVC fuck - in caps that fit the pickle size . , append teflon tape when I did so . Some of the holes in the hot bath were work strangely , so I used pieces of cast - off acrylic credit card from an old racing go - go-cart windscreen ( some kind of Plexiglas / lucite ) what I cut with my band saw to deal the holes with some beneficial intersection , then I usedaquarium siliconeto glue them into billet . It took a petty employment and a mates of bomb , leak experiments , but it work great in the end .
To get set out with some soil for the bottom , I pluck potted plant life from my greenhouse that were doing poorly . I did n’t want to employ new soil or dig a gang of sand up , so I just chucked pot - full phase of the moon of filth with gage and dead plants in there for a while .
Here ’s another pool , a light fiberglass shield I found by the side of the road :
Towards the upper right , you’re able to see one of the holes I patched with a silicone polymer - glued piece of plexiglass .
This one is near my b and where I was go to put a sewer … though I never in reality got around to it . The rainfall has almost always been passable to fill my hot tub ponds and keep them full enough for my goldfish and various pool flora . On the few occasions where it ’s search a bit low , I ’ve topped it off with the hose – but no hot bathing tub pond has ever been in peril of drying out .
These red-hot tubful pool are grid - down water computer storage , compost founding and water system gardening all in one . Check with your local hot tub / pocket billiards installer for cheap or free bathtub . They often remove quondam live tubs and trash them when they instal new tub . That means your hot tubful pool will most likely end up being destitute if you take in the right person .
