DIY Garden Art Frog Prince
A friend understand a garden art frog prince during a garden tour and asked me to make one . She did n’t have a photo , so all I had to go by was ‘ it ’s round , immature , laughable , and hold out a crown ’ . Okay . I can make one of those ! I profess , it ’s not my usual flair , but I was up for the challenge .
This labor is desirable for a wily person with some experience ( or someone willing to experiment ) . I say this because I work with thrifted items so your supplies are not going to be the same as mine : you ’ll have to make some decisions and adaptation along the way to make it make .
The frog prince is essentially a egg ( sturdy lamp ball or bowling ball ) with wire arms and legs attached , and the body ( ball ) is covered in flat - bottom marbles . The accessories — treetop , flowers , and whatever else you dream up — make it charming .

Materials
I ’ll tell you what I used and also give some suggestions for alternate materials . I wish to make - do with things I have on hand or can find used at K gross sales or parsimoniousness store .
Assembly

This is where you have to use your tricky sense and conform .
If you ’re using abowling ballbody , you could make separate arms and legs ( with wire and beads ) and slip in them into drilled holes .

For my glass Earth body , I did the following :
Here ’s one of the hand / foot ideas I tested out :
Here I ’m test out the conducting wire coat of arms to see how they see :

Decide where you want the arms , legs , eye , and backtalk to go .
You could mark the field on the body with a Sharpie mark if that helps . The mat - bottom marbles will be applied over the wires , around the eye and mouth , and brood the rest of the consistency .
This part can get mussy and require a sensation of humor and willingness to conform , as much of life does . Keep a dampish rag useable for wipe off your fingers .

Here you see the frog with his sleeve / leg wires attached , eyes in space , and marble over top the wire to hold everything in place . I ’ve mark the lamp globe on a cupful to hold it steady and off the table while I ’m working :
When everything is wry , it ’s ti7me to prune up your Prince .
Some ideas include :

And he ’s quick for the garden . clear this is one of the goofiest garden art items I ’ve ever made but it was fun to project it out . I ’m not sure if he ’s outrageous , cute , or a number of both !
