It ’s been awhile since we ’ve visited John Markowski ’s garden in New Jersey ! ( refreshen your memoryHERE&HERE ) John send off in some photo yesterday of what ’s live on in his garden now , and it ’s so squeamish to revisit it .
He says,“I garden in Zone 6B in central New Jersey and have two freehanded issues I need to contend with . My clay soil drainage very poorly ( apparently we have a high water table in my township ) and the flora have to deal with wet feet a good part of the class . I also have swarm of cervid who visit frequently and destroy everything in their path ( RIP peonies ) . As a solvent , I rely more and more on ornamental skunk and native perennial and bush . These admit Joe Pye green goddess , amsonia ( bluestar ) , milkweed , clethra ( summersweet ) , monarda ( bee balm ) and others . Keeping it aboriginal has distinctly increased the number of critter visitors so it is problematical to really complain about my conditions . ”
Despite the challenge , your garden is lovely , John ! * * Be sure to visit John’sBLOG ! * *
