Maybelline , one of my chickzillas .
I had no idea how fastmy baby chickswould raise . Every daytime , it seems like they are visibly larger than the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. before .
It was barely two months ago when they were lilliputian petty fuzz balls , peep incessantly to help mom keep unceasing tabs on them . Today , they look like miniature chickens . Still babies , butgiganticbabies , like the giant duckling Baby Huey , an old toon star from the 1950s . They have becomechickzillas .
Two of them already have names . The biggest is probably a male person , based on the large combing that is already forming on his principal . Since he is the only one who resemblesMr . Mabel , he was dubbed “ Maybelline ” a while ago in the hopes that he was a hen . I do n’t think he is , but he will remain Maybelline until I can come up with something practiced .
Then there is Liberty , so named because at one point in her rapid development , she resembled a bald bird of Jove . Her body was dark - gray , and her brain was white . These days , she is all grey . I have to question where that ashen oral sex go . I am disappointed ; I so want to have a Gallus gallus that looked like an eagle .
The third chick , which is pretty large and all - black , remains nameless . Something will doubtless total to me , or to one of my roommates , when the metre is proper . Meanwhile , she is just refer to as “ the black one . ”
The three chickzillas are now official member of the flock , staying tight to mamma andAunt Jowhile they move around the curtilage with the other chickens . What ’s awe-inspiring to me is that nothing hassles them . Chickensare well jazz for being unforgiving to fledgling the endeavor to join a good deal . But somehow , these lilliputian hombre are nontaxable . The other birds bang that these chicks are kin . They were straight off integrated into the chemical group without so much as a thought .
However , things might change when they get old enough to begin reproducing . If Maybelline is indeed a rooster , he may determine himself bullied by Mr. Mabel as shortly as he reaches maturity . If he ’s chic , he ’ll hang back and ward off challenge the boss serviceman . His life will be a stack easy if he takes that route .
If the other two chickzillas are hen , they will most certainly be at the bottom of the pecking ordering . When they are no longer under the care of Mom and Auntie , they will get trail away from the intellectual nourishment , and campaign around at every chance . It ’s distressing to think about , but I have to remind myself that they are chickens , and this is their earth . If they could reflect the human billet , they might feel pretty sorry for us , too .
