For us , it has always been a great way to look to summertime while the cold abrasive wintertime stirs outdoors . It ’s also a chance for us to daydream of the howling matter soon to grow from the ground .
This year ’s design for our garden is all about celebrating and maturate look ! With our move to the farm now complete , and the last child heading off to college in the fall , the mass nutrient production end have take a back seat . In its position – pure flavor !
It was n’t long ago that our full garden plan was centered on feeding a family line with four athirst teenager . We could watch over the jounce of salsa , fix , pasta sauce and more fell off the pantry shelves . And we had to plant and grow consequently .

But with those needs to produce huge quantities of solid food loose a bit , we settle to apply this year ’s garden quad to try out a huge scope of exciting varieties and flavors ! This years garden is chock full of heirloom tomatoes , nearly 30 unlike varieties in fact ! Amish paste and Roma ( for the sauce and salsa bases ) are the only tomatoes we will plant more than 1 of .

The residue of the garden is replete with what we love to consume every day ! majestic green bean , strawberry and Ladyfinger Zea mays everta , cucumbers , garlic , courgette and more ! We even have a new favourite we lessen in beloved with after purchasing last yr at a Farmer market – Brussel germinate ! We hump them on the grill with just a touch of olive crude and salt or hot pepper flakes .
