Filling a small front yard with vegetables
Today we ’re head to Canada to visit a garden that proves you do n’t need a mass of space to grow a lot of food for thought .
My name is Lindsay , and I survive in Niagara Falls , Ontario .
This is my front yard . The garden is approximately 14 feet by 12 animal foot . This is my fifth year living here and doing this garden . Every year it go larger . This year I decided to tryraised boxesto improve my crop . It is about 95 % vegetables , though there are bloom to add color . I have clavus , broccoli , Brassica oleracea botrytis , Brussels spud , beans , peas , squash , pumpkin , watermelon vine , white turnip , beets , radishes , tomato plant , peppers , onion plant , strawberries , asparagus , andcarrots .

Overview of the garden . The small quad is carry with a spacious orbit of crop . In the foreground is a big bed ofstrawberries .
A few flowers are mixed in among the vegetables . The yellow flower is a genus Gerbera daisy ( Gerberajamesonii , Zones 8–10 or as annual ) .
Including luck oftrellisesis a gravid idea in asmall garden , as it allows you to maximize the purpose of the vertical space in the garden .

Raised beds and containers are a great shortcut to lot withpoor territory , allowing you to bring in high - quality soil and providing excellent drain . They also upgrade the garden , making for a minuscule less bending over . Raised bed can be an expensive option for a large garden but are perfect for fetch the most out of a small space .
Lindsay ’s lush , productive front yard is in staring direct contrast to the apparent , empty yards around her ! Why have a deadening lawn when you could have fresh , homegrown green goods ?
