From my childhood , the clock time I remember feel this most strongly was on the waltzer ride at our local fairground . That sense of revel it at first but then the ride getting faster and quicker , but knowing that it was travel to preserve for a good while longer . Cue dolourous supplication to parent , ‘ make it stop ! ! ’ Feeling something consanguineal to that now , milder perhaps , but real . I am engage in a fiddly greenhouse juggling exercise that will be familiar to many gardeners at this time of year . I have a lot growing from seeds germinating and ask sting out , pot on , pot on again , hardening off , all of which necessitates shuffling plants around the greenhouse , heated to unheated , from the glasshouse to the dusty soma , from the insensate frame to … where ? Anywhere somewhat sheltered I can discover . This mean I now have to hint - toe through an obstacle course of plants just to get to the nursery . The gaps between the raised beds , which offer some protection from the weather ( if we ever have any ) , are nonplus clean cluttered . I need about three times the inhuman frame space I have . Anyhow , must n’t scold . To extend the metaphor , I paid to go on this fairground ride so I must see it through .
I have cite in the past times that my local HPS has a plant bonny , a ready channel for me to distribute my many excess plant . I am informed that the plants that sell well at said middling are a unspoiled size but not too big , in 1 litre pots . I do n’t have any 1 liter pot , or not many . I was going to do a slam through our local Freegle control board but then had a brainwave . It seems that you could buy enormous quantities of used great deal of any size of it on eBay , quite inexpensively , pennies each . I have about 500 arriving in the next few sidereal day . Of naturally , being larger , they will take up yet more space once I set off moving plants up a size . Sobs .
In the merry - go - turn of the last week or so I have tote up to the plant reckoning quite a bit . Germinated seeds of helenium , rudbeckia , lobelia , lychnis coronaria , foxglove and others have been pricked out in number and are thus now enumerate . I have potted on seedlings of hesperantha , genus Allium , berkhaya .
I have rooted cuttings of Dahlia pinnata and salvia hotlips which are now growing on . Still more of those to come , next time perhaps . I also divided some genus Geum and alchemilla mollis the other day , that ’s another 30 left plants right there . At the weekend I dug up some pheasant tail grass from its temporary home in one of the raised beds . I grew these from semen last twelvemonth and they have grown into good size clunk . I felt compelled to part them a bit , seemed unmannerly not to , so that ’s another 9 to sum . block up the ride !

in secret , of course of instruction , the fairground is a bang , and each year I wanted to go back and the waltzer was ride regardless .
